  • Cape Kidnappers Golf Course

Set atop rolling hills and rugged cliffs that give way to vast sea views and an ever-present horizon, Cape Kidnappers is home to the 18-hole golf course crafted by Tom Doak, and luxury resort Rosewood Cape Kidnappers.

Cape Kidnappers occupies a breathtaking peninsula at the southern end of Hawke's Bay, extending 10 kilometers into the South Pacific. The golf course and adjacent resort, Rosewood Cape Kidnappers, occupy a 6,000-acre working sheep and cattle station protected by over 10 kilometers of predator proof fencing. This barrier creates Cape Sanctuary, the largest privately owned and funded wildlife restoration project of it's kind in New Zealand. By protecting New Zealand's native flora and fauna from predators, our golfers are treated to unforgettable play surrounded by rare and endangered bird life that call the tree clad ravines home.

Tara Iti is an exclusive, members-only golf club. Designed by Tom Doak, this masterpiece offers one of the world’s best golfing experiences.

Currently ranked as the No.1 golf course in New Zealand and No.7 in the world, outside the US by Golf Digest, the rugged, seaside links layout is nestled between towering sand dunes and the islands of the Hauraki Gulf.

It is located on one of New Zealand’s prime surfing beaches, approximately 100 kilometres north of Auckland and includes 11 kilometres of ocean frontage and 225 acres of sand dunes.

Te Arai, the beach beyond which Tara Iti sits, is significant to the local Māori as “the lifting off point between earth & heaven”. The Māori name aptly describes the feeling you get while looking out at the land and sea

  • Wairakei Golf Club

Many find sanctuary on a golf course, but it is rare to find a golf course that is a sanctuary - Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary is thought to have scored a world first! Skilfully designed to blend with the natural rolling countryside and developed to meet the rigorous design standards for world class championship competition.

Officially opened February 1970 by the Tourist Hotel Corporation.  Special guests including the Minister of Tourism Hon. H. J Walker were invited to an exhibition match followed by a celebratory luncheon.  Today, the basic layout of the golf course remains true to the original design of Commander John Harris, Michael Wolveridge and Peter Thomson.  There have been many enhancements to the golf course environment including a strong focus on conservation and providing a predator free sanctuary for wildlife.
